Screenings/Papers at Musicacoustica Hangzhou and Sound/Image Greenwich

My audiovisual composition 'Estauries 4' has been programmed for the Musicacoustica Hangzhou Festival, China, which runs Sep 24-29 at the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music. 

'Estuaries 4' has been programmed for the Sound/Image Festival 2024 at University of Greenwich, where I will also present my audiovisual installation work 'Traces, Molten' and a paper on 'Estuaries 4'.

'Estuaries 4' April Screening at Electronic Nights, Texas Tech University

Prof Bret Battey's audiovisual composition 'Estuaries 4' has been selected for inclusion in the Texas Tech University 'Electronic Nights' concert series. 'Estuaries 4' will appear in concert April 17, 2024 at the Texas Tech School of Music.

Masterclass and screening: Punto y Raya, Lisbon, October

I will be presenting a masterclass on Tue, October 10, as part of the Punto y Raya Festival in Lisbon. The festival will be the eighth edition of Punto y Raya, which describes itself as "The Most Abstract Festival in the World"— "a feast of pure form, colour, motion and sound". Battey's film Estuaries 4 will also be screened as part of the festival. The masterclass, entitled 'Six Works, Seven Years, Millions of Dots', will focus on audiovisual composition and algorithms in my "Estuaries" series and recent installation works.

Battey interview in new book on visual music

I amongst the artists profiled and interviewed in a new book by David Payling, Electronic Visual Music: The Elements of Audovisual Creativity, to be released September 12, 2023. It aims to provide "insight into contemporary working methods and gives a snapshot of the state of the art in this ever-evolving creative discipline."

Estuaries 4 awarded ICMA ‘Best Regional Music (Europe) Award' for 2022’

Estuaries 4 was awarded the ‘Best Regional Music (Europe) Award' for 2022 from the International Computer Music Association, from a field of 362 works submitted to the Association’s annual conference.
