Estuaries 4 awarded a Distinction in Prix CIME 2023

The jury of Prix CIME 2023 awarded Estuaries 4 a Distinction in the Video Music category (along with João Pedro Oliveira for Coalescence). 

Estuaries 4 awarded ICMA ‘Best Regional Music (Europe) Award' for 2022’

Estuaries 4 was awarded the ‘Best Regional Music (Europe) Award' for 2022 from the International Computer Music Association, from a field of 362 works submitted to the Association’s annual conference.

'Estuaries 4' awarded 'best video' by the MuVi6 festival

Estuaries 4 has been awarded 'best video' by the MuVi6 International Exhibition of Video and Moving Image on Synesthesia and Visual Music. It will be featured in an upcoming book and a conference held by the Faculty of Fine Arts “Alonso Cano”, University of Granada (Spain) and Convento de Capuchinos, Alcalá la Real (Jaén, Spain), 26-29th October 2022

I am honored to share that Estuaries 3 has just received the "Best Audiovisual" Award from MADATAC X competition in Madrid, Feb 24, 2019. 

Clonal Colonies: Co-First Prize in MuVi4

Clonal Colonies has received a Co-First Prize in the MuVi4 International Exhibition of Video and Moving Image on Synesthesia and Visual Music. Happily, the other first prize was awarded to my fellow University of Washington DMA alum Linda Antas, for her work All the Glitters and Goes Bump in the Night. The works will be presented at Teatro Martinez Montañéz, Alcalá la Real, Jaén, Spain, 16-19th May 2015, in association with the Fifth International Congress "Synaesthesia: Science & Art". A book and DVD will be released in association with the event.

Clonal Colonies receives Honorable Mention

Clonal Colonies (1st movement) received an Honorable Mention in the Short Film Competition of the  Reykjavic Centre for Visual Music / Punta y Raya Festival in January, from a field of 371 films from 46 countries.

Clonal Colonies Receives First Prize, Fresh Minds 2012-13

My audiovisual composition Clonal Colonies received First Prize last week from the Fresh Minds Festival 2012-13. The festival is a public performance of audiovisual artworks by professional artists, student-curated under the direction of a multi-disciplinary team of faculty at Texas A&M University. I was honoured to be recognised along with 2nd- and 3rd-prize winners Ryo Ikeshiro and gruppoGruppo. We had an enjoyable time meeting staff and students, trying out real Texas BBQ, and having great conversations about the places where art, image, sound and science meet.
